The short version
- No account, no ads, no analytics, no tracking.
- Everything you record stays on your phone. There is no 5to9 server and we never receive your data.
- Data only leaves your phone if you export a file or turn on Google Drive backup, which goes to a hidden folder in your own Drive.
- You can delete everything at any time.
Who we are
5to9: Habit & Energy Tracker ("5to9", "the app") is made by Reno App Studio, an independent app developer ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the app does with your information. It also covers this website, get5to9.com.

What the app stores on your phone
To work, 5to9 keeps the following on your phone, in the app's private storage:
- The 5–9 windows you set up (names and times).
- Your habits: name, icon, days or weekly target, time, optional minimum version and reminder choice.
- Which habits you completed and when, including minimum versions and recovery days.
- Energy check-ins: a score from 1 to 10, the time, optional tags and an optional short note (up to 140 characters).
- Your energy tags and settings, such as reminders, theme and app lock.
- If you connect Google Drive: that it's connected, your Google account's email address (shown so you know which account is used) and when the last backup ran.
Insights, such as averages and patterns, are calculated on your phone. We don't receive any of this data. There is no 5to9 server and no 5to9 account.
What we don't do
- No ads, and no advertising or analytics SDKs.
- No tracking, profiling or selling of data.
- No location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera access.
- No crash-reporting service that sends data to us.
When data leaves your phone
Only when you choose one of these:
Export
"Export backup" (a .json file) and "Export history" (a .csv spreadsheet) save a file wherever you choose. What happens to that file afterwards is up to you.
Google Drive backup (optional, off by default)
If you connect Google Drive, 5to9 uploads a backup of the data listed above to a hidden app folder in your own Google Drive. This happens about once a day when you're online, and whenever you tap "Back up now". The upload is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). You can disconnect at any time in the app.
Android's own device backup
If Android backup is turned on for your phone, Android may include 5to9's data in your device backup to your Google account, as it does for other apps. You control this in your phone's settings.
Google user data
When you connect Google Drive, 5to9 asks Google for one permission: drive.appdata, which lets the app create, read and delete only its own hidden backup folder in your Drive. It can't see, open or change any of your other Drive files. The app also reads your Google account's email address to show which account is connected. That email stays on your phone.
This data is used only to back up and restore your 5to9 data at your request. It is not sent to us or to anyone else, is not used for advertising, and is not read by people.
5to9's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Google processes Drive data under the Google Privacy Policy. You can remove 5to9's access at any time at myaccount.google.com/connections.
Phone permissions

Home-screen widget
If you add the 5to9 widget, it shows today's habits and your latest energy score on your home screen, including when app lock is on. Remove the widget if you'd rather not show this.
How your data is protected
Your data is kept in the app's private storage, which other apps can't read. Drive backups travel over encrypted connections and are stored in your Google account. App lock adds a fingerprint, face or screen-lock check. No method is perfectly secure, so please keep your phone's screen lock turned on.
Your choices and deleting your data
- See and edit: everything you've recorded is visible in the app, and you can edit or delete any habit or check-in.
- Take it with you: use "Export backup" or "Export history" at any time.
- Delete everything on the phone: You → Delete all my data, or uninstall the app.
- Delete Drive backups: open Google Drive → Settings → Manage apps → 5to9 → Options → Delete hidden app data. Then remove access at myaccount.google.com/connections.
Because we don't hold your data, we can't access, change or delete it for you, but we're happy to help by email.
Children
5to9 is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from children. The app doesn't collect personal information from anyone.
This website
get5to9.com has no cookies, no analytics and no third-party trackers, and its fonts are hosted on the site itself. Like any web host, our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) for a short time for security and to keep the site running. If you email us, we use your email only to reply to you and delete it when it's no longer needed.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here and update the date at the top. If a change affects how the app handles your data, we'll also mention it in the app's release notes before it takes effect.
